Summary: The Property Accountant is responsible for providing timely financial statements to the owners/investor of their portfolio of self-storage properties.

Essential functions of the role that can be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Prepares financial statements, including reconciling prepaids and accruals, and verification of balances on the income statement and the balance sheet.
- File timely sales and use tax returns and ensure real estate taxes and insurance subledgers are accurate and paid on time.
- Analyze general ledger accounts for any month end reclassifications including budget variance analysis. Calculate and process Owner distributions
- Track Loan, Insurance and Property Tax invoices to ensure timely payments
- Track business licenses, personal property tax filings, etc. on a timely basis.
- Assist in the preparation of the annual budget process.
- Verify the company credit card transactions and post to NetSuite.
- Monitor daily cash balances and assist bookkeepers with reconciling cash accounts as needed.
- Special projects on an as needed basis assigned by the Accounting Manager.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.

Education and/or Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree in accounting preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) years previous accounting experience and NetSuite
